Tauranga musician Luke Thompson will join Dave Baxter of Avalanche City in an acoustic performance in Mount Maunganui next Wednesday.
While acoustic performances are part of Luke's forte, it's something slightly out of the ordinary for Dave, who typically plays with a group of five to six people.

Performing solo is how Dave started out before his big hit Love, Love, Love, which debuted at number one in the New Zealand charts in 2011.
'I always play solo, so it's going to be same for me,” says Luke.
'I will be playing heaps of new songs that I have been working on in the last year and Dave will also be playing songs off his new album, which isn't out yet.”
Luke first started playing music when he was a child and continued through his teenage years. It wasn't until he was 19-years-old that he started playing full-time.
'I love everything about music. I really enjoy all the aspects of what I do. I really love writing songs, as up and down as it can be.

'I like touring, recording and I even enjoy the organising of a tour these days. Touring is a big part of what I have been doing in the last couple of years.” 'I put my album out about eight months ago, free on my website, and it's been going really well so I'm not quite ready to release another one yet.
'But I have definitely been thinking about it, writing and trying to figure out what it's going to be like. I may have a new album out at some point in the next six to seven months.”
Dave and Luke will be playing at Major Toms in Mount Maunganui on October 23.
SunLive has a double pass to the performance to giveaway.
