Bay of Plenty natural health products company Comvita's shareholders will gather in Paengaroa this week to hear about its financial performance.
Comvita chief marketing officer Scott Coulter is expecting about 100 people to attend the company's AGM on Friday, July 31 when a financial report will be read.
This comes after Comvita released its annual report earlier this month and declared a return to profitability after suffering net profit and operating surplus losses in the 15 month period ending March 31, 2008.
The company's net profit for the last financial year is $770,000 compared with a loss of over $3 million from the 2007/2008 financial year.
Scott says, 'This significant improvement is mainly the result of strong sales in certain markets, like China and Hong Kong.”
These figures are a cause for optimism says Scott, as the second and third quarters of the current financial year approach. It is at this time that certain markets thrive for Comvita.
'Traditionally this is the strongest time of year for us with the Northern Hemisphere heading into winter and with increased tourist numbers to New Zealand.”
