Detours will be in place on Maunganui Road this Sunday and Monday night while resurfacing works are undertaken.

The NZ Transport Agency is advising of works along State Highway 2/Maunganui Road from 7pm until 6pm.

Resurfacing works on State Highway 2/Maunganui Road will start on Sunday night.

A detour via Maunganui Road, Newton Street, Aerodrome Road and Hewletts Road will be in place during this time.

NZTA says the speed limit along the work site will be reduced from 70 km/h to 50 km/h.

This work is weather dependent and if conditions are less than favourable, the road works will move to the next fine day.
