Pulling power of some of New Zealand's most iconic Kiwi musicians is resulting in hot demand for tickets to the annual Stars Under The Stars show.

Di Pulley was first in line to purchase tickets to the Stars Under The Stars show onsale at Baycourt.

The line-up for the 3.5hour show at Mills Reef Winery, recently announced, features homegrown hits of the 80s and 90s. Artists includeThe Narcs, Andrew Fagan, Sharon O'Neill, Shona Laing, Margaret Urlich, Annie Crummer and Debbie Harwood.

Tauranga city worker Di Pulley was first in line today, grabbing her place at 8.15am for the 9am sale.

'I wanted to be first in the queue, so I can get to work.”

Di is a big fan of the Stars Under The Stars show, having attended the last eight years in a row. She purchased six tickets to the show this morning, with the intention of inviting friends.

'Today is the day to buy them over the counter, so I wanted to make sure I get my tickets.”

Tauranga promoter, Craig Wilson of Premium Entertainment, says the show is 'the best we've ever had” at this long-running event.

'The backing band also features Alan Mansfield, a 20-year member of Dragon, and Gary Verberne, who was originally with DDSmash and The Legionnaires.

'Karyn Hay, who hosted Radio With Pictures introducing most of these acts on television at the time, will MC the event.”

Tickets are only available over the counter at Baycourt for the first two days of sales, before they go online from this Friday.

Craig says this is done to ensure as many of the locals as possible have the best chance to secure tickets before the rest of the country get a go. There are no gate sales.
