A section of State Highway 2, between Paeroa and Pokeno, is closed after a large truck and trailer unit rolled spilling a load of plywood onto the road.

Police at the scene say no other vehicles were involved in the crash and no one was injured.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 1pm.

SH2 is currently closed in both directions between SH2 and Coxhead Road and is expected to be closed for some time while a crane is bought in to remove the truck and trailer.

Motorists are being asked to use the diversions in place or avoid the area if possible.

Police, together with the Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit (CVIU) are investigating the cause.
