New World Mount Maunganui can now boast it has the best Foodstuffs employed checkout operator in the North Island.
Jamie Lee Payne has won the company's competition to find the island's best and the 21 year old puts it down to hard work.

For her success Jamie has won a long list of prizes: a laptop, a printer, DVD recorder/player, a software package, $1000 cash and an overseas holiday.
To win the competition, Jamie Lee did a grueling ‘two hour check off' and was assessed in normal working hours by mystery shoppers.
Jamie says she likes her job.
'Anyone who wants a supermarket job as a checker should give it a go, it's a great opportunity,” says Jamie Lee. 'It can achieve so much for you.”
Not only is she a checkout operator, she's also a supervisor, a barrista, and a ‘second in charge'.
