Singer Anna Coddington is set to give Mount Maunganui audiences a unique musical performance this Saturday night.
The 32-year-old pop singer is on her second tour, ‘Make you mine,' promoting her two new singles at Major Toms in Mount Maunganui.
Anna Coddington hits the Mount for her new tour.
Anna, on the microphone and drums, will be accompanied by Anji Sami from the Sami Sisters on bass and singing.
'We just had the first show at the Leigh Sawmill and it was really awesome,” says Anna.
Anna wanted to revamp her music singing her singles ‘Make you mine' and ‘Bird in hand' produced by musician, Sean James Connelly known as SJD.
Bird in hand was released in May and made it to the finals of the APRA and AMCOS silver scroll awards.
Anna wanted to focus on one song at the time and work with different people rather than produce a whole album.
'I just wanted to try different things rather than tie myself to one big project,” says Anna.
The set will be a mixture of new songs and ones from her previous album and covers.
Anna says her last tour, Little Islands, was a band show replaying everything from her first album and this Saturday's two person set.
'It's quite fun for me because drums was my first instrument and I'm really enjoying the opportunity to play them in my own show,” says Anna.
Junior Project Manager for Playground, Matthew Henkin, has received only positive feedback after signing Anna.
'We're getting good responses,” says Matthew.
The show will start at 8pm at Major Toms in Mount Maunganui, tickets cost $15 from undertheradar.co.nz. The rest tour will be accompanied by Mike Hall as he is unable to play this Saturday.
SunLive has two CDs and two single passes to her show to give away.
