Board changes at Priority One

Knowledge, governance skill, the ability to be a project catalyst and being well connected are the key traits for a successful board member.
Priority One chief executive officer Andrew Coker believes the economic development agency's two recently appointed board members, Fraser Lellman and Carol Ward, are bringing these skills with them.

Fraser is managing partner of chartered accountancy firm BDO Tauranga and is also Trust Secretary for Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust.
'Fraser brings a strong level of experience in finance and accountancy,” says Andrew.
As well as these skills the connection with TECT is valuable for Priority One as this will help to make proposals involving the trust, which has net assets worth in excess of $750 million, happen.
Andrew is excited to have Carol, Zespri International's director corporate and grower services, on board with Priority One also as she brings the voice of one of the Bay's biggest industries.
'It's very important to have a kiwifruit organisation involved with that industry approaching 20 per cent of the Bay's GDP,” says Andrew.
'Carol, like Fraser, brings strong experience in a number of areas.”
One of the strengths Carol brings to Priority One is her experience with local and central government, with business and with the World Trade Organisation.
Leaving the board is Warren Banks; someone who Andrew says has been a great contributor to the organisation since its inception in 2001.
