Jobs wanted for students

Student Job Search has opened a Tauranga office to make it easier for Tauranga employers to hire students this summer.
The SJS office opened at Work and Income's Tauranga office on Monday to help with the increasing number of students looking for employment, and to give employers and students a point of contact over the busy summer months.

SJS is expecting thousands of job-hunting students will register with them this summer. 'I really want to increase the number of jobs for Tauranga students. Being a student myself, I know how hard it is to find work over the summer break,” says SJS Tauranga manager Shane Stevic.
'There has definitely been a big increase in the number of students registering with us in the lead up to summer, to a level we haven't noticed in the past,” says SJS senior marketing assistant Marek Koliandr.
'With so many students looking for work, it's a fantastic opportunity for the Tauranga community to support their local students.”
Leading up to summer, a lot of people need to do work around their property, or need to hire more people for the busy summer season, says Marek.
In the last year, Student Job Search provided more than 25,000 individual students with 30,000 job placements, which resulted in more than $69 million in wages for students.
