School children from schools across the city will be taking to the streets on Tuesday for the annual Orange Day Parade.
It is the way police, council, and public thank the school patrols children, traffic wardens, walking wardens and bus wardens for their work during the school year.

Part of the parade is a road safety banner competition with the winning design to be announced by Mayor Stuart Crosby.
The Orange Day Parade starts at Baycourt just before 10am and will wind its way down Durham Street, into Spring Street, Grey Street, Elizabeth Street, Devonport Road, The Strand, Hamilton Street and back to Baycourt.
There will not be any formal road closures in place but police will provide traffic control and an escort for the children during the parade.
