'This strategic acquisition, with a total area of 6.8hectares, will be key to expanding access to and from international markets for Auckland.”
The property, which is immediately adjacent to Port of Tauranga's inland MetroPort, includes three large industrial warehouses, an office building and more than 2hectares of land ear-marked for future development.

'This acquisition adds to the $10million recently spent on acquiring three properties in Tauranga. These properties add a further 2.28hectares to our potential development land, bringing our total holdings in Tauranga to nearly 190 hectares.”
Mark says rental income from these new properties is expected to exceed $3 million per annum.
The unconditional sale is due to settle in February 2014.
Port of Tauranga handles more than 180,000 TEU per annum of international imports and exports to and from the Auckland market.

Maybe at last the port can take a few hundred of the containers that are progressively blocking the open views of our beautiful harbour and stick them in their newly acquired land in Auckland. They are a blot on the Tauranga landscape.

Auckland inland port lands, what is not obvious is why the TEL is being built in the opposite direction, to East Cape via Panegaroa??? Really strange when the business real deal for Tauranga is Hamilton/Auckland, so SH29 and SH2 north is what needs to be an Autobarn, best for Tauranga.
