One Tauranga couple could be getting married 38,000 feet off the ground on the way to Fiji – all with a little help from the public.
Web IT workers Andrew Ford and Lorena Brayshaw are one of the two final couples in today's MORE FM Mid-Air Matrimony competition and have until midnight to get the most votes to win them the unusual business class wedding.
Andrew and Lorena are hoping to secure a mid-air wedding en route to Fiji.
'We just thought it was such a unique and interesting concept and experience, it would be something wonderful and different to do as a couple.”
The couple, who met while working at a Tauranga IT company, got engaged at the start of 2012 but are yet to tie the knot.
'We found out on Tuesday we were through to the finals. There are two couples a day, and it's all up to the public vote.”
In the last year the couple have gone through their share of tough times, with Lorena encountering complications with her pregnancy that landed her now nine-month-old daughter Honor in intensive care.

'We have had a bit of a rough time in the last 18 months and thought it would be something positive.
'Our little girl was born prematurely. She had a few weeks in special baby care and had to be resuscitated. In the last eight months we have been dealing with the complications from that – it's been a hard eight months.”
If they win the couple will fly business class on the brand new Fiji Airways A330 aircraft where they will marry mid-way from Auckland to Nadi.
They also get to take two witnesses and Lorena says they have chosen their two mothers.
On arrival in Fiji the couple will be shouted to a romantic honeymoon at the Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa Fiji or the Radisson BLU Resort Fiji Denarau Island.
Voting closes at midnight tonight. Click here to vote for Lorena and Andrew.

Got my vote. Brave lady, supportive husband, good to see. Not too sure about Fiji though - that's where they build governments with guns. I wouldn't go there on principle, but hey, none of that is your fault. Best of luck. Hope ya win.
All the best!!!!
