Motorists travelling along State Highway 2 between Bruce and Domain Roads are being warned to expect minor delays as road works begin tonight.

Fulton Hogan HEB Construction Alliance will be carrying out road surface repairs from 6pm tonight until 6am tomorrow.

The NZ Transport Agency says various sections of the road will be reduced to a single lane with a restricted speed limit of 30km/h and a manual stop/go in place.

The agency says the works are weather dependent and if it is too wet it will be postponed until another night.
