Thousands of people are expected to pack into the Tauranga Home Show today as the doors open on 2013's event at ASB Baypark this morning.
More than 200 home-related companies and organisations are filling 6000 square metres of undercover space at the 14th annual event from May 10-12.
Organiser Graeme Martin from Bay Events says this year's show is set to be the best yet, and hopes more than 10,000 people will attend throughout the weekend.
'This year's event is all about quality,” says Graeme.
'There'll be a huge selection of new home builders with big brand names, and newer ones all there, pitching their wares.
'From the big, bold and beautiful homes to the smaller economical ones, the Home Show is the ideal chance for you to meet many of them in one easy-to-do day.”
Graeme says the show's location, primed with 2000 free car parks, and 8000 square metre of indoor and outdoor space is perfect for the event.
'The new ASB Arena at Baypark is superbly built for events of this nature. It's a $40 million venue, this is as good as it's going to get.”
Attracting more than 10,000 people last year, Bay Events had to turn away companies wanting to feature this year due to popularity.
This year, a number of new and exciting features are taking place, including the inaugural Ikon Kitchen Boulevard and the return of the Renovation Court.
Aside from the new features, returning to the show is $20,000 in prizes and live cooking and building demonstrations.
The Tauranga Home Show is open from 10-5pm daily. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for 13 years and under. Today tickets are two for the price of one.
