Petrol prices have dropped three cents a litre ahead of the weekend with both Z Energy and BP cutting prices today.
Z is now selling 91octane at $2.13 and diesel at $1.49.
This follows a four cent drop in petrol in March with 91octane at $2.17 per litre and diesel at $1.52 per litre.
AA PetrolWatch spokesperson Mark Stockdale says prices are just a few cents per litre less than the same time last year.
'While the price of a barrel of oil fell to US$10 a barrel during February and March, the commodity price of refined petrol and diesel only fell about NZ$7 a barrel during February and March - which equates to about seven cents per litre.”
Mark is calling for further price reductions to be passed onto consumers.
