Greerton Village Community Association chairman David Manford, Greerton Mainstreet manager Graeme Morrissey and National Security Group security consultant Shane Anderson show a camera similar to ones that will be installed around the village thanks to a $10,000 grant from NZCT.

"The cameras will be placed throughout the shopping centre and will be monitored 24 hours a day," says Greerton Mainstreet manager Graeme Morrissey.
"They can be accessed by police and will make it safer for people shopping and walking through town at all hours."
The new cameras were purchased from and will be installed by National Security Group in Tauranga.
There will be fixed cameras overlooking shops which record on motion detection as well as pan-to-zoom cameras that tour the shopping area, recording full time.
These are able to zoom in and out of shop windows and doors, have a clear view of open areas and can focus in on car licence plates.
