Big ship in town

The biggest cargo ship to service New Zealand's exporting needs regularly is in Port of Tauranga.
The OOCL New Zealand arrived in Tauranga on Sunday as the last stop in the country before it heads to Port Kelang in Malaysia on Monday.

The ship can carry 4578 TEU (standard sized containers).
This is considerably more than the 4100 TEU capacity of previous large ships to New Zealand. These were operated by Maersk, although the largest capacity ship to ever visit the country was the Maersk Detroit last year - a ship with a capacity of over 5000 TEU.
