Passengers are continuing to climb on board Bay Hopper buses in record numbers.
Environment BOP says the 139 469 passenger rides recorded for March 2010 smashes the previous record.
It is 18 717 more passenger rides than the previous high of 120 752 rides set in December 2009.
"These latest figures show that more people are turning to convenient and sustainable transport" says EBOP transport committee chairman Andrew von Dadelszen. "These are encouraging results for us and show that the service is really settled."
"We've endeavoured to establish a service that's reliable, convenient and affordable and these latest figures show that the service is meeting those targets."
Environment BOP is also encouraging more people to get set up with Smartride cards by offering the card for free. EBOP will bear the normal $10 cost of the top-up cards to encourage their use, says Andrew.
