Mirrielees off-ramp closure

The Mirrielees Road eastbound off-ramp will be closed tomorrow and Thursday while a new footpath is constructed.

Motorists travelling eastbound along State Highway 2 from Bethlehem to Mount Maunganui will be affected by the four hour daily closure.

Mirrielees Road off-ramp will be closed tomorrow and Thursday.

The ramp will be closed completely from 11am to 3pm on both days.

NZ Transport Agency's Bay of Plenty state highways manager Brett Gliddon says the timing of the works has been selected to minimise any disruption to drivers and to operations at the Port.

'We have consulted with businesses at the Port and taken into account traffic volumes to minimise delays to users of this road.”

Traffic travelling towards the Port of Tauranga at Sulphur Point will be detoured via the Chapel Street off ramp along Chapel Street, Marsh Street and Dive Crescent.

Brett says drivers can expect minor delays.

The work will be weather dependant and if it is wet, the closure will be moved to the next available fine day.
