Police are continuing to investigate a crash involving a cyclist and an e-scooter rider on Cameron Rd in Tauranga that seriously injured one person.

Emergency services were called to the collision near 6th Ave at 8.15am yesterday.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said ambulance crews treated two patients at the scene before taking them to Tauranga Hospital.

“One patient was in a critical condition and the other was in a moderate condition.”

Police later said one person suffered serious injuries and a second person moderate to serious injuries.

“There are no further updates to share, or any status updates,” police told NZME today.

“Police are working to determine the circumstances of the crash.”
