Just like blood and water

With the permitted operation of E Scooters and Cyclists together, it seems this sort of thing will happen more often.
...
There will be more. Often these tiny vehicles cross our paths when leaving one avenue to gain access to Cameron Road. We are often as motorists also busy looking right. It seems many e-scooter people think they are made of steel, impervious to dangers of making quick decisions. A motorist cannot be as maneuverable as they are.
Keep them apart. Like blood and water, it's bad enough mixing scooters and cycles together. In my opinion. I have seen e-scooter riders doubling up a brother on the scooter. Surely this will end in a serious moment.

I sincerely hope they were BOTH wearing helmets. As a frequent walker I have imagined this happening on too many occasions - it seems too many people are ignoring basic safety.

Obviously, thoughts for those involved, may they recovery promptly.
But, on the TCC side, $100+m spent for your "safety and wellbeing... betterment, wonderfulness...".
Yet little apparently achieved, who will TCC blame this time?
e-Scooter on roads?

What is the law regarding e-scooters on the road? At about 9:30 pm last night I narrowly avoided colliding with a young man on an e-scooter when he overtook me as I was leaving my parking space. I had checked behind me before starting but did not see him, though I did see a car behind me. The e-scooter must have come very fast over the brow of the hill I was parked on. If I had accelerated, it would have been all over for him. He wasn't wearing a helmet but did have a light.

…I saw a young guy speeding down to Turret Road on a e-scooter just before 8.00. As he caught up to his mates who were on bikes he lifted his scooter into a wheel stand for 20 on 30 metres. Clever but dangerous. Not a helmet on any of them.
