Motorists are advised to expect delays travelling to the beachside town of Maketu as the road will be reduced to a single lane from today.

To allow construction of the new Maketu Road underpass to commence, Maketu Road is required to be lowered and a temporary road constructed.

Maketu Road will be reduced to a single lane from today.

A manual stop/go will be used to allow construction vehicles to cross Maketu Road at all other times traffic signals will be used to control traffic.

A temporary speed restriction of 30km/h will be in place.

A long-term temporary diversion remains in place along Parton Road to allow ground improvement work to be undertaken for the new Parton Road overpass.

A small section of Parton Road will be diverted onto a temporary road.

A diversion will be put in place along with a temporary speed restriction of 50km/h.
