Fuel tanker and car collide

A collision occurred on Thursday afternoon between a petrol tanker and a car at the Moffat Road and State Highway 2 roundabout.
Police say the BP petrol tanker was crossing through the roundabout from Katikati towards Tauranga.
The white hatch back was travelling north through the roundabout along Moffat Road.

No injuries were sustained after a petrol tanker and a car collided at the roundabout intersection of Moffat Road and Stage Highway 2.

A four-wheel drive heading south through the roundabout along Moffat Road also became involved in the accident after the white hatchback appeared to have been shunted into the right side of the vehicle, says Tauranga senior constable Peter Redman.
No one sustained injuries but two drivers involved in the crash were checked by ambulance staff at the scene.
Motorists travelling through the Moffat Road roundabout faced delays after the accident at 2.30pm, June 25, while emergency crews worked to secure the area.
The BP tanker was full at the time of the collision but police say no fuel leaked from the vehicle.
