A landmark $30million business centre housing some of Tauranga's top firms officially opened today.
The ANZ Business Centre on the corner of Cameron Road and Elizabeth Street was opened by select guests including Tauranga MP Simon Bridges at 11.30am.
People gather for the official opening of the ANZ Business Centre on Cameron Rd.
'What a stunning day for the opening of a stunner of a building in a stunning city,” says Simon.
'It looks like a million dollars, but I understand it's more like $30million.”
Simon stopped to thank the builders, designers, investors and tenants of 'the first true business centre of its kind”.
'It's a real sign of confidence in your business and in this city at a time when around the world, we know Europe's going to pieces, there's difficulties, but we can be confident in what's happening here.”
The four-storey, eco-friendly building is now home to Cooney Lees Morgan, KPMG, Staples Rodway, Rothbury and Bayleys Real Estate, with ANZ and Aurecon due to move in early next year.
Simon says the benefits of such a wide range of tenants to the business community and to the wider Bay of Plenty will be really impressive.
Housed on the former Bay Nissan site the 8000sqm building can house up to 450 workers and includes a licensed café and parking.
Two international companies are also set to lease space in the building.
The building was designed by Auckland-based Wingate and Farquhar and was built by CBC Construction.
