Emergency services are responding to a serious crash in Karapiro, Waikato.

Police received the report around 4.45pm.

The crash has involved four vehicles and took place at the intersection of Buckland Road and Karapiro Road.

"Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries," says a police spokesperson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
