Emergency services are responding to the scene of a three-vehicle crash on the Maungatapu Bridge, on State Highway 29A.

A SunLive reader has reported a nose-to-tail crash on the bridge.

"It happened behind us. [A] car rear ended another right in the middle of the bridge," says the SunLive reader.

"Dont think they will get the car off too quickly."

Police received reports of a three-car crash on the south-bound lane of State Highway 29, Maungatapu, at around 8.05 am this morning.

"Two people are reported to have minor to moderate injuries and are awaiting medical assistance," says a police spokesperson.

"No reports of the roads being blocked. The vehicles involved will be towed in due course."

"It's not a major crash but will delay traffic a lot," says a SunLive reader.

Motorists are advised to expect delays.
