Update, 5pm: State Highway 29 is reported to be blocked following a crash involving three vehicles.

Police responded to reports of a crash between a vehicle and two bikes on State Highway 29 near Omanawa Road, around 4.20pm.

"Two people received moderate injuries," says a police spokesperson.

"The road is blocked and traffic control is in place."

Earlier, 4.27pm: Emergency services are responding to the scene of a vehicle crash on State Highway 29 between Tauranga and Te Poi.

The crash is reported to be on SH29 near the intersection of Omanawa Road.

"Please follow the directions of emergency services or response crews in the area," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson. 

It is unknown at this stage whether anyone is injured.

"Delays in the area are likely. Diversions may be required."
