One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a crash in Te Puke.

Emergency services were called to the crash on No.3 Road at 7.30pm.

A police spokesperson says it was a single-vehicle crash.

"Police can now confirm one person has died following a single-vehicle crash on No 3 Road yesterday.

"Sadly, they passed away at the scene and another was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."

People with information about the crash are urged to contact their nearest police station.
