Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 34 near Kawerau.

The crash is between Kawerau and SH30/Te Teko.

"Due to a serious crash near Fletcher Ave, a section of SH34 is closed," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

"Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Tamarangi Drive, near Coates Rd and Fletcher Rd at about 3.20pm," says a police spokesperson.

"There are no reports of injuries or road closures."

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for diversions.
