A driver is uninjured after being rescued from a near-boiling hot pool at Kuirau Park in Rotorua on Saturday.

Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Ranolf Street near Arawa Street, shortly before 2.20pm.

The car crashed through a fence on Ranolf Street at a roundabout before ending up in a geothermal pool.

A police spokesperson says the crash appears to have happened as a result of a medical event.

A fire truck, ambulance and many police cars attended the scene.
