UPDATE: State Highway 25, near Te Mata, is now partially open following a crash earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the crash around 7.40 pm.

Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency, reports "the road was closed due to an earlier crash, on State Highway 25 in Te Mata."

"SH 25 remains open under Stop/Go traffic management, however, some short-term closures may be required to complete vehicle recovery. Expect delays."

Reports are coming in of a crash near Te Mata on State Highway 25.

"The Road is blocked in both directions there are delays in the area," says a caller to the  0800 SUNLIVE news hotline.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.
