One person is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash on State Highway 29.
Emergency services were called to a two vehicle crash on SH29, Lower Kaimai, Matamata-Piako District around 11:20pm.
"One person was transported to Hamilton Hospital in a serious condition," says a police spokesperson.
"The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene and a scene examination was conducted.
"The road reopened around 5.20am.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
