Reports are coming in of a crash on the Bayfair flyover.

Tauranga City Council says there has been a crash on the new Te Maunga Underpass.

"The eastbound lane from Bayfair Flyover onto the TEL is blocked," says a council spokesperson.

"Emergency Services are on scene.

"Expect significant delays between Bayfair Flyover and Sandhurst Off Ramp East Bound on TEL."

A SunLive reader has emailed to to say traffic is at a standstill near the flyover.

"A vehicle is on it's side and trucks and traffic are all at a stand still on flyover heading to Papamoa."

About this crash, a police spokesperson says:

"Police were alerted to a single-vehicle crash on Maunganui Road shortly after 10.30am."

"One person has received minor injuries, and is being checked by ambulance."

"The road has now cleared."
