Emergency services are responding to the scene of a vehicle crash in central Tauranga.

The Tauranga Transport Operations Centre is reporting a vehicle has overturned on Arundel Street near Cameron Road.

"The lane is completely blocked and vehicle upside down," says a TTOC spokesperson.

At around 5.20pm Police received a report of a crash involving a single vehicle on Cameron Road, at the intersection of Arundel Street.

"The road is blocked while emergency services are in attendance," says a police spokesperson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Traffic is being diverted down Fourth Avenue to Devonport Road.

"Significant delays can be expected on Devonport Rd and Fraser Street due to increased traffic volume," says a TTOC spokesperson.
