Police can confirm one person has died following a crash in Ngāruawāhia on Saturday.

The crash involved a car and a motorcycle and happened shortly before 5pm on Great South Road by the golf course.

Sadly, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

There were no other injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

The road was closed until around 8.30pm.
