Tauranga motorists will be noticing a slight reprieve at the pumps as the price of petrol decreased by two cents a litre this week.
The price of petrol fell as the New Zealand dollar continued to climb.
BP and Z service stations cut their prices from $2.19 to $2.17 a litre of 91 fuel and 95 fuel is now $2.25.
A Z Energy spokesperson says the price drop is due to a reduction in international refined petrol prices.
ICE Brent Crude was at US$111.70 a barrel, down from US$112.20 yesterday and US$116.16 on Friday.

Yesterday the price was $201.9 a litre and discount of 6 cents a litre on my AA card. This has been going on for over a year in Rotorua, why not in Tauranga? The powers that be say its all down to competition! If they can sell it at 18 cents a litre in Rotorua for over a year and make a profit then start doing it for Tauranga as of now.
