Motorcyclists gather for breakfast

About 100-150 motorcycle and scooter enthusiasts are expected to converge on The Strand Reclamation car park on Friday morning for a breakfast.

The riders are participating in the MTA Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day that is being undertaken in six centres across New Zealand.
They are: Tauranga, Gisborne, Wellington, Palmerston North, Kaitaia and Oamaru.
The breakfast is being held in partnership with ACC, which is trying to promote two road and motorcycle safety websites: www.rideforever.co.nz and www.scootersurvival.co.nz
ACC Tauranga branch injury prevention consultant Carole Fleming says it is an unusual promotion with an important message.
It is the first time the event has been held in six centres simultaneously.
