Harbour Link road closures

Short term closures for certain stretches of road, as part of the Harbour Link project, will continue this week.
Installation of a traffic diversion on Takitimu Dr from the footbridge to the Elizabeth St Roundabout will cause traffic to be diverted onto the eastbound traffic lanes. One lane will be available at all times for traffic. During this diversion traffic will be manoeuvred across the lanes – caution is required.

A series of short-term lane closures will be installed on the intersection of Chapel St and Marsh St for asphalt to be laid and other associated activities. One lane will be available at all times.
A long-term lane diversion will be in place on Marsh St; this will move traffic onto the final alignment. Caution is required around this area as works will still be continuing.
Installation of a road closure on Marsh St from Dive Cr to Chapel St will be installed for pavement rehabilitation works. A signposted detour will be implemented while this operation is being undertaken.

This information from NZTA weekly bulletin for the week beginning Monday, November 9, published below.

Long-term Harbour Link closures:

Installation of long-term lane closures, eastbound and westbound on Takitimu Dr. Speed restrictions are in place. Footpath diversions have also been installed from Waihi Rd footbridge to West St/Chapel St, please follow the signposted detour. This footpath diversion will be in place for approximately 4 weeks.

Installation of a long-term lane diversion on Marsh St to Dive Cr. Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to travel along the signposted route and use the new shared walkway/cycleway on the new Harbour Bridge.

Continuation of a long-term footpath closure on Chapel St (old BP site side of Chapel St). Pedestrians will be diverted at the controlled intersections at Chapel St and Bay Central Retail.

Long-term lane closures are in place along Hewletts Rd (city bound traffic only), which involves the reduction from 3 to 2 lanes from Totara St to Tasman Quay. Tasman Quay to Ballance Corner is reduced to one lane to allow for a traffic diversion at the old toll plaza site for construction of the new road.

Pedestrian and cycle access from Totara St south onto Aerodrome Bridge is closed until December 2009. Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to use the new shared walkway/cycleway which runs from Tasman Quay intersection on Hewletts Rd over the new Harbour Bridge to Mirrielees Rd.
