Interesting results from markets

Tauranga financial advisor Jonathan York says there has been some interesting results from the investment markets this week.

Jonathan, who now works for the newly named Bay Financial Partners after IRGBOP was taken over by new investors a few months ago, says Telecom and Fletchers were broadly in line and the guidance was possible a bit weaker which caused the share price to come under a little bit of pressure.

'Looking between the lines and taking into the account the dividends the selloff was possibly a little bit overdone because you're still looking at around an eight per cent dividend yield.”

He says there is still a lot of in high dividend and high quality shares because New Zealanders are traditionally looking for income.

'The retail bond market it thin on the ground and TrustPower was heavily oversubscribed and that went quickly.”
