Thank you for your patience

Harbour link project manager Kevin Reid has been working on the bridge project for nearly three years.
At its peak the workforce was about 230 people, many of whom have since moved on to other Fletcher projects.
He speaks about the job to Sun Live, and thanks the public of Mount Maunganui and Tauranga for their patience during the construction.

See a video interview with Kevin Reid below.

The official opening is mid morning tomorrow when local body politicians, national party politicians and New Zealand Transport Agency officials make speeches and unveil a plaque commemorating the occasion.
The official opening party will assemble at the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club, from where they will take a bus trip to the unveiling site near the ceremonial waka anchor beside the Dive Crescent off ramp.
Regional NZTA director Harry Wilson will welcome everyone and introduce the speakers who will include Transport Minister Stephen Joyce. Other politicians to speak include Tauranga mayor Stuart Crosby and EBOP chairman John Cronin.
Four people including the politicians, Harry and a yet to be named NZTA speaker, will assist the minister with the unveiling.
Then the minister will walk about 50 metres to the top of the off ramp and ride back down it in a big container truck waiting there for him.

After years of frustrating projects being run by the MOW and then incompetent contractors it has been an absolute joy to witness the professionalism of this harbour link project - all concerned should take a bow - Rob Smith
