A vehicle has crashed on Hewletts Road, Tauranga.

Police received a report of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hewletts Road and Jean Batten Drive at 6.09pm.

There were no reported injuries.

Earlier a car crashed near Katikati, running off the side of the road.

Police were notified of a single-vehicle collision on State Highway 2 at 3.42pm.

Emergency services including a fire brigade and ambulance were at the scene and one person was taken to hospital.

It is unknown at this stage how seriously the person was injured.
