People using Hewletts Road in Mount Maunganui are being warned to expect delays today.
Urgent works are being carried out on State Highway 2, between Hewletts Road and Golf Road.
"Urgent works will be conducted for the repair of a damaged rail crossing light for the Mount Maunganui Branch Main," says the NZTA.
"The works affect the left rail line crossing located on the SH2 Roundabout heading towards Maunganui Road and Golf Road."
Work is taking place from 9am to 4pm.
