Tonight is the Bethlehem Progressive Association's turn for a four laning public meeting.
At a meeting in the Bethlehem Community Church Hall in Moffat Road from 7.30pm tonight, New Zealand Transport Agency staff, and councillors will discuss the project with, and answer questions from progressive association members.
Details of the project were made public at a similar meeting hosted by NZTA in the shopping centre a few weeks ago.
The progressive association opposes the plan to widen SH2 to four lanes from the Moffat Road roundabout to a new roundabout to be built at Te Paeroa Road.
Local opposition concerns traffic congestion, the potential loss of parking impacting local businesses, and the future development of the northern arterial bypass link.
