There has been a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 2 near Paengaroa.
Police were notified of the two-car crash at about 6.10pm
The crash is on SH2 between Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Rd and Wilson Rd South.
"Initial indications are that two people are trapped, and three people have suffered injuries - one minor, one moderate, one serious," says a Police spokesperson.
The road is blocked.
NZTA advise motorists that delays may be possible.

2 crashes in 2 days too many... whats with all the idiots around te puke that cant drive this past month. and local youths have a hard enough time even getting restricted because the test criterias in tauranga/mounts so strict why are so many inept drivers on the road. cant have anything to do with kiwifruit workers? too many foreigners in our peoples houses let alone on our roads.
