One person is reported to have sustained serious injuries following a crash in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two car crash on Rangiuru Road at 8.30am.

A police spokesperson says the crash happened at the intersection of Rangiuru Road and Malcolm Avenue.

'One person is reported to have serious injuries.”

Investigations are underway into the cause of the crash.
