Fuel prices in Tauranga have dropped by four cents a litre, the second decrease in the area in a month.

The current fuel prices at various fuel outlets are $2.11 for 91 octane, $2.19 for 95 octane and $1.49 for diesel.

Z Energy spokesperson Jonathan Hill put the drop in price down to the global price of oil and refined fuel falling due to global uncertainty influenced by events in Europe.

'We've been able to lead two price decreases as a result.

'If we continue to see the slide in oil prices, I think it is quite likely we will see further reductions.”

Jonathan believes the possibility of prices declining further to be higher than the chance prices rising.
