About 580 women from across the country will bike, run and trek in a Tauranga adventure race this weekend.

The Wander Women Adventure Race in Tauranga will see 145 teams of four women navigate adventure courses at TECT Park. The action is set to kick off tomorrow morning.

Wander Women Adventure Race event manager Fiona Cleghorn is excited to welcome the teams to Tauranga this weekend.

She says the event is a navigational team race that is created by women, for women.

'Our Wander Women teams are going to have a fabulous time navigating the stunning course we have created at TECT Park. 87 teams are taking on our three-hour course, while 58 teams will complete our six-hour course by mountain biking and running or trekking, as well as completing mystery activities.”

'For many of our racers, Wander Women will be their first adventure race – I'm delighted to introduce them to this awesome sport at our supportive, fun event.

'Family and spectators are welcome to join me cheering on our teams at Spectator Zone at TECT Park, as well as at our event prize giving at 10am on Sunday.”

Event registration: Friday, November 13, from 5.30pm – 9pm at Bivouac Outdoors, 131 Willow Street, Tauranga

Event: Saturday, November 14 2020 at TECT Park, SH36, Whataroa Road, Ngawaro.
