Motorists are advised to take care on State Highway 2 near the Te Puna roundabout today as a power pole is being replaced.
'Due to a tree falling in high winds last night near SH2 Te Puna roundabout a power pole was damaged and needs to be replaced along with the powerline,” says an NZTA spokesperson.
The work is expected to take place from 9am – 3pm today.
Traffic detours are in place.
Eastbound traffic towards Tauranga will be detoured via Te Puna Rd and Te Puna Station Rd
