Police are reminding motorists to drive responsibly around crash scenes.

This prompt comes following a fatal crash near Te Aroha last night.

'It is always very sad when we have to report a fatal crash,” says a post on the Waikato Police Facebook, 'and unfortunately one person was killed just before midnight last night near Te Aroha. Our condolences go out to friends and whanau.”

'But we also want to express concerns of some other driving emergency services experienced while responding to the scene.

'While attending the crash, a vehicle has come across the scene and almost hit a fire truck and several firefighters.”

Police says it appears the car had already been in a crash, and the driver is now facing a number of serious charges.

'Once the scene was clear and local police staff were heading back to the station to complete the paperwork, when they then caught another driver doing 128km/h along SH26, literally just a few kilometres from the crash.

'Fatal and serious injury crashes are hugely traumatic for everyone involved, let's work together to prevent harm and have safe roads.”

These idiotic morons just don't care. This idiot driver is probably laughing about it, making a joke of it with his mates. I hope the courts fair slam him for this. It's the same with these morons driving recklessly through roadworks with no care in the world for others. You're doing a really great job hammering the gangs Mr Policeman so now hammer these speed demons as well. Hit them where it hurts like hell.
