The proposed Welcome Bay road closure for this weekend is postponed.
The closure was expected to affect the section of Welcome Bay Road at the intersection of Waitaha Road to enable a new sewer pipe to be laid.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the postponed closure means the Welcome Bay shops will be open this weekend.
Waitaha Road is also expected to re-open this weekend, after being closed for several weeks to allow the new sewer pipe to be laid.
A TCC spokesperson says a temporary speed limit will be in place and motorists are being advised to take extra care.
Waitaha Road, between Welcome Bay Road and James Cook Drive, is due to be resealed next week.
Work to lay the new sewer pipe under Welcome Bay Road is being rescheduled and a new date will be announced next week.
